The Hopeful Radio Digressions: By Maurice Smith
The Hopeful Radio Digressions contains excerpts from Maury Smith's 2006 musical monologue recorded live on March 4th, 2006 (the only calendar date that is also a command!). Maury's previous musical monologues, Linear Analgesics: Tales from the MIddle Third (2004) and Little Antibody and the Big Disease (2005), engaged his Madison, Wisconsin audiences with humor, truth, music and emotion arranged around a common theme. This year's model, The Hopeful Radio Digressions, explores the roots of one guy's hopes as the world spins beyond control and we tune in to the radio daily to find out where the other shoe is dropping today. Odd numbered selections are spoken pieces -- even numbered selections are Maury's original tunes. You'll laugh...you'll cry...you'll picture the four horsemen of the apocalypse discussing the president's state of the union address. Enjoy...
